Director : Ted Wallach
Ted Wallach has been directing films for 12 years and has been a creative director for We Create Space, a design company, for five years. He has an MFA in directing from Sarah Lawrence College, and graduated from film school in Denmark. His last film LAYOVER, about a couple trapped in an infinite airport, was created with an extensive VFX team and a crew of over one hundred people. It played at the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. LAYOVER has just won him a job at Kaplan Thaler Group directing a commercial for them using the same unique world building style. Ted directed a music video in Dubai which garnered 9.5 million views on youtube, and a nomination at the MTV awards. Over the last four years he has been directing his first feature film, a documentary about inner city kids who escape the streets by becoming magicians. David Blaine visits these kids in Queens in order to inspire them, and after three years these young adults are now teaching magic to kids in El Salvador, a career path which offers them a better option than joining MS-13, the most dangerous gang in the world. This film is being produced by Jason Sosnoff, producer to Barry Levinson, and Bill Haugse the Academy award nominated Emmy award winning director of Hoop Dreams. Ted has co-directed two Bollywood films, and cut his teeth under Martin Scorsese on The Aviator. He has just returned with his wife to live in Williamsburg, Brooklyn after having lived in Sweden and Denmark for 10 years.
